ELECTED OFFICIALS
Village Council meets in Village Hall twice a month for meetings. The Mayor and Council Members are elected and serve a four year term. If a Council Member is unable to complete their term a new Council Member will be appointed to finish the term.
I am a graduate of the Wayne County Schools Career Center and Wooster High School.
I own and operate the Bouquet Shop. I have been a Smithville resident since 1982.
I have served on Village Council two separate periods for a total of 22 years, having served as president of council for the last 8 years. I currently serve as Mayor. It is my goal to work along with the other elected officials and village staff to provide the best services in a cost-effective manner.
As we face the challenges to upgrade infrastructure and services we will always remember the values upon which Smithville was built.
My wife and I have lived in The Village since 2001. We previously lived in Green Township for 18 years. I am currently serving my second year on The Village Council and am the liaison to Central Fire District Board of Trustees.
As with all Members of Council, I am always interested in your comments and suggestions on how to improve The Village.
I have been a resident in the wonderful village of Smithville for the last 22 years with my husband and children. I graduated from the Wayne County Schools Career Center and currently work for Summa Hospital in Akron as a medical coder.
I am a Wayne County native for nearly my entire life. My wife, two daughters and I reside in Smithville and consider ourselves blessed to be in this wonderful community. Outside of village council I coach youth girls soccer and work professionally in the paints and coatings industry. I’ve been a member of village council since January 2023 after being appointed to fill a vacancy and look forward to serving the village to the best of my abilities.
My wife and I have raised our two children in Smithville since 2006 and we have found it to be an excellent community to do so.
I have worked in the pharmaceutical research industry since 1995, after obtaining a Biology degree at the College of Wooster, where I also played football. I enjoy following our kids in their various school activities, walks with my wife, just about any sport and fishing rain or shine (preferably shine).
This is my first opportunity to serve on Village Council, after being appointed to fill an open seat on Council in the Spring of 2020. I currently serve as the Parks and Trees Liaison, aiming to work with others in the community to maintain and improve our parks with safety and fiscal responsibility in mind so they can continue to be enjoyed by all now and in the years to come. I welcome any questions or concerns you may have regarding our parks and/or the Village in general.
My wife has lived in the Smithville area her entire life and I have lived in Wayne County for nearly 20 years. We live in town with our three children and love this community. Our family is very active in Green Local Schools and our church. I joined council in 2023 when a spot was vacated and have loved serving this great village of ours. Smithville is a great place to live and I want to help preserve that as much as I can.
